Kevin Gross Jam Against Cancer Recap

What a great and inspiring time I had at the Kevin Gross Memorial Jam against cancer benefit this past Sunday. Jan Gross is such an inspiration! She has worked so hard to honor Kevin’s memory and bring as much good as possible from a tragic loss. What a great testament that all of the people working, attending, performing on Sunday showed up! I couldn’t help but think of all of the losses we’ve had to cancer… my Mom Opal and my brother Gordy and way too many others. How great it was to honer my Mom and brother with our band “OpalzzBoyzz” that we put together again just for this event. Fronted by my brother Robert Ferrie, who has battled and won two bouts with cancer, along with my brother Kevin on bass, nephew Josh Ferrie on drums, and honorary “OpalzzBoyzz” Evan Jones and Jason Ellsworth. We had so much fun that we are going to do it again, so if you missed it… or wanna see more… stop out to the Nickel Spot Friday. Driven S Dakota has graciously asked us to open the show for them and we can’t wait to do it again!

I am so grateful to have had the chance to reunite with some awesome family and friends including the Jukebox Zeroes, my brother Rockin’ Bob, and many others! Thanks to everyone who came out and helped raise a whopping $10,000 for families fighting cancer. It was unbelievable to see the support and be in a room filled with so much love and music.
